As an educational and cultural institution and part of its public service, the Lincoln Heritage Public Library welcomes exhibits and displays of interest, information, and enlightenment to the community. The use, by individuals or organizations, of the library’s facilities for displays and/or exhibits, other than those which pertain to the library, is not a right but a privilege that is subject to review by the library director and/or board.
The library has priority for all exhibits, displays, and bulletin board areas for library purposes. The Library encourages individuals and community and school groups to share their unique collections with the public through displays. The areas are available to any local non-profit organization wishing to publicize civic, educational, and cultural events and are accepted when space permits.
The length of display time is at the discretion of the library director with a maximum time period of four (4) months. Whenever possible, displays or exhibits shall incorporate books or materials from the library’s collection that relate to the subject of the display.
The library assumes no responsibility or liability for the preservation, protection, or possible damage or theft of any item displayed or exhibited. All items placed in the library are done so at the owner’s risk. The user agrees to hold the library harmless and to be responsible for any damages, costs, or expenses for inappropriate use or violations of this policy.
